The Cincinnati NAACP’s 59th Annual Freedom Fund Dinner will be 5:30 p.m., October 25, at
Horseshoe Cincinnati, 1000 Broadway, 45202. The theme for this year’s high energy event is “Civil
Rights: A New Generation,” and will feature the talented Hill Harper, “CSI: New York” star, Harvard
Law graduate, youth advocate and author, and several live entertainment acts.

Lead sponsors include Macy’s, Horseshoe Cincinnati, UC Health, Western & Southern Financial,
Messer, and Kroger.

Al Gerhardstein, Esq., Rev. Gregory Chandler, Western & Southern Financial, Miriam West, Orlando
Henderson, Dr. Cleaster Whitehurst-Mims, Dr. Cleota Wilbekin and John Singletary.

“Our theme this year is `Civil Rights: A New Generation,’” said Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney, chair of
this year’s event. “We are especially reaching out to the younger generation – the Millenials and 40-
something individuals, to connect with the NAACP, the dynamic organization that was instrumental
in obtaining desegregation of public schools, public accommodations and other basic rights for
everyone. We will also spotlight the NAACP of 21st Century – which is advocating for youth, voting
rights and awareness and economic opportunity.”

Tickets are $75, and Bells of Freedom tickets (where names are listed in program) are $125.
For info. and/or tickets, please call the NAACP Office at (513) 281-1900.

“The event this year promises to be a lively, multi-cultural, primo networking event, that will
feature live entertainment, great food and a fun time for everyone – and all for a great cause,”
Kearney concluded. “It’s clearly going to be the event of the year! Don’t miss it!”
