For the 115th year, tennis in the Midwest will bring tennis lovers and fans together to ooh, ahh,
applaud, and cheer!  Over nine days in August, the world’s best in professional women’s and men’s
tennis will take to the courts at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason (OH), and their tennis
prowess will be on display as they compete in the W & S Open 2014, August 9th-17th.

Cincinnati is one of only five tennis events in the world, outside of the grand slams, where the top-
ranked men and women in the sport play at the same venue in the same week.  Referred to as a
“mini US Open”, the W & S Open tournament, one of the last stops on the Emirates Airline US
Open Series before the US Open in New York, has contributed more than $9 million directly to its
beneficiaries: Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, the Barrett Cancer Center and Tennis
for City Youth.

Tennis elites will take to the courts and compete for the $6.4 million in prize money.  The world
will be watching as Victoria Azarenka, the 2013 W & S Open Women’s Titleholder, and Rafael
Nadal, the 2013 W & S Open Men’s Title holder, defend their respective titles and go for a repeat
win.  In addition, players anticipated to compete in the tournament include Roger Federer, Novak
Djokovic, Andy Murray, John Isner, Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams, and Li
Na.  Here's the official list of who has committed to compete:
2014 player entry list.

In a change of format for 2014, Semifinal Saturday will differ from the usual schedule. Those
accustomed to men's matches in the day and women at night should note that 2014 will feature
one men's and one women's match each session on Saturday, August 16th.

A family friendly event, there is great play to see on the court and fun to do off the court.  Get
player autographs, dine at the food court, listen to live music on the performance stages, shop,
test your tennis skills, and more.  There is something for everyone!

Special events include Graeter’s Kids Day, High School Day, Kroger Family Day (1/2 price tickets),
Night on the Runway,  Military & Uniformed Personnel Day, and USTA Member Appreciation Day.

The 2013 tournament was a record-setter:  13 of 16 sessions sold out, 187,183 tickets sold, and the
tournament ended with 11 straight sell-out sessions.  So, don’t miss your chance in 2014 to see the
best in tennis – right in your own backyard!
