Reds Community Fund and P&G North America Marketing Team Up for Youth Baseball
|
The Reds Community Fund and P&G partnered for two community
service projects on Thursday, August 11 in Winton Place and North
College Hill. Hundreds of volunteers from P&G North America
Marketing, along with Reds Community Fund staff and board members,
participated in the day-long volunteer project starting at 9 a.m. By the
end of the day, the volunteer teams completed the installation of new
pitchers mounds, batters boxes, dugout benches, backstop fencing and
bases.
At the site of Clark/Gamble Montessori School in Winton Place, a new
field designed for youth baseball was dedicated. In North College Hill a
new high school baseball field was completed on the site of the former
Becker Elementary School. The new field will be the home to the North
College Hill Trojans high school baseball team.
Jodi L. Allen, Vice President of P&G U.S. Operations and Marketing
North America and Bob Castellini, Reds Chief Executive Officer attended
the ceremonies along with Cincinnati Public Schools superintendent
Mary Ronan.
Cincinnati Public School’s Clark/Gamble Montessori is the current
home of the Reds Community Fund’s Urban Youth Academy and Brandon
Phillips Field as well as a training facility for the Cincinnati RBI teams.
Last summer, P&G volunteers and the Reds Community Fund completed
P&G Field on the Clark/Gamble campus, which now serves as the home
of the RBI Girls’ Softball program.
The project was funded by P&G and the Reds Community Fund.
High-fives P&G North America Marketing and the Reds Community Fund!

RetroFittings an innovative collaboration to benefit St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) will be held on October 13 at
the Hilton Netherlands Hall of Mirrors. Local 12’s Jen Dalton is the host for the 9th annual RetroFittings
fashion show.
RetroFittings is an innovative fashion show featuring the creations of more than 50 fashion design
students from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning (DAAP)
utilizing clothing, accessories and other materials from St. Vincent de Paul’s seven thrift stores. The
designs are modeled by UC students in a New York style fashion show. Proceeds benefit St. Vincent de Paul’s
efforts to serve neighbors in need through a variety of social services and programs.
Event guests are invited to “rock the bow tie” -- the custom RetroFittings bow tie, designed by NFL
linebacker Dhani Jones in conjunction with his national “Bow Tie Cause” initiative. The bow tie sells for
$57 with all proceeds going to St. Vincent de Paul.
“RetroFittings is a fantastic event – combining the best of fashion with the spirit of collaboration and
community giving,” said Jones. “The St. Vincent de Paul bow tie embodies that spirit and I’m pleased that it
will once again help the organization do great things for people in need in Cincinnati."
The event begins at 6 pm with refreshments, an auction, a raffle and a boutique sale preceding the fashion
show. Tickets are available online at www.SVDPcincinnati.org or by calling 513-562-8841 ext. 225.
High-fives and best wishes!
