ArtsWave Delivers Largest Ever Campaign With More Than $12 Million

Cincinnati State Honors Faculty Excellence

ArtsWave recently announced the successful completion of the 2014 Annual Community
Campaign, with gifts totaling $12,015,031 in support of arts organizations across the region. As
is the case every year, the total dollar amount announced includes contributions already
received and reported, as well as projections for campaigns that are ongoing.
ArtsWave remains the largest community campaign for the arts in the country both in total
contributions and number of donors. ArtsWave also continued to increase community
engagement with the arts through signature programs. More than 10,000 people attended three
Macy’s Arts Sampler Saturdays showcasing the area’s arts organizations and the wide variety of
experiences they offer. Events included arts from many world cultures including Japanese choral
music, African drumming, Russian folk dancing, and creating Indian mandalas with rice flour.
“We want to thank all of our donors and volunteers who took action for ArtsWave and our
community,” said Mary McCullough-Hudson, CEO of ArtsWave. “The millions of dollars that this
campaign invests every year in our local arts organizations create benefits for our entire region.”

Cincinnati State’s top awards for faculty excellence this year were
awarded to Amy Richardson, the co-chair of the Mathematics
Department, Peggy Rolfsen, a 20-year veteran of the Biology
Department, and Kenneth Stoll, member of the Cincinnati State
faculty and administration. Richardson, Rolfsen, and Stoll are
among those to be honored at the College’s 2014 Commencement
Ceremony May 4th.
Richardson, a registered professional engineer, and Rolfsen, a
biology professor in the Health & Public Safety Division, were
chosen by their colleagues to receive the House/Bruckmann
Award for Faculty Excellence, presented each year at Cincinnati
State to celebrate classroom teaching as well as service to
students, the college and the larger community.
For his long service, Stoll, who has a 40-year teaching and
administrative career with Cincinnati State, will receive the 2014
Distinguished Alumni Award.
High-fives and congrats Amy Richardson, Peggy Rolfsen, and
