The Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, a leading medical research
institution and teaching hospital, is once again ranked one of the best
Children’s Hospital by U.S. News and World Report.
As indicated on the U. S. News website for its 2013-14 rankings, U.S. News
surveyed 179 pediatric centers to obtain clinical data in 10 specialties and
asked 150 pediatric specialists in each specialty where they would send the
sickest children.
For the first time, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center was ranked
No. 1 for pediatric cancer treatment. The hospital also ranked second in
nephrology and pulmonology; third in gastroenterology, orthopedics and
urology; as well as also ranked in the top 10 for neurology, cardiology, diabetes
and neonatology. This is the third consecutive year that Cincinnati Children’s
placed third among the Honor Roll hospitals in the U.S. News report.

Jerald Tillman, publisher of SuccessGuide, has announced that after 21 years the
print-only publication is now available in an eBook version. The NEW online mobile
eSuccessGuide 2013 is available in both the Cincinnati/Dayton and Indianapolis
versions at www.SuccessGuide.com .
Published annually, each edition combines editorial features of Black achievers in the
Cincinnati/Dayton and Indianapolis areas respectively, along with a directory of more
than 1,000 Black owned businesses, clubs and organizations, elected officials, religious
organizations and corporate professionals.
Whether in print or eBook version, SuccessGuide Cincinnati/Dayton and SuccessGuide
Indianapolis still serves the same purpose - helping consumers in each city find
African Americans who provide the goods and services they need and desire - including
Black doctors. In addition, corporations use the magazines to find qualified employees
and minority sub-contractors to help with diversity initiatives.

“I’m proud that we are again recognized as one of the top three children’s hospitals in the country by U.S. News
& World Report,” says Michael Fisher, president and CEO of Cincinnati Children’s, in a posting on the hospital's
website. “Our exceptional overall ranking and the stellar rankings of so many of our programs are the result of
hard work and teamwork throughout the medical center.”
High-fives Cincinnati Children's!
Ruther, co-founder of the Cincinnati USA Music Heritage Foundation, has long been active in efforts to
celebrate the legacy of the King Records recording studios in Cincinnati. Those efforts included helping to
broker a 2011 partnership between Cincinnati State and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland to offer a
distance learning class on King Records. Ruther also serves on the governing board of the Bootsy Collins
Foundation and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
