USA Today and 10Best.com conducted a Readers Choice poll of the best Zoo
Lights in America. Who came in at #1?
“It's official! @CincinnatiZoo's #PNCFestivalofLights is #1 on USA Today's
Best Zoo Lights list.” Cincinnati Zoo tweeted. “Thank u for voting!”
After a month of voting, the PNC Festival of Lights at the Cincinnati Zoo &
Botanical Garden was voted #1. As a matter of fact two other Ohio zoos –
the Toledo Zoo (#2) and the Columbus Zoo (#5) – were among the top five
zoos out of a pool of 20 nominees!
Celebrating 33 years of family fun and tradition at the Cincinnati Zoo’s PNC
Festival of Lights, the 2015 light display featured the beauty of more than
2.5-million LED lights, a Madcap black-light puppet show, visits with Santa,
rides on the Toyland Express, searching for fairies in Fairyland, a spectac-
ular Wild Lights show on Swan Lake, snacking at one of two S’mores-n-More
stands, a breathtaking 35-foot-tall tree blanketed with more than 20,000
LED lights greeting you as you enter the zoo, and more.
It is estimated that attendance for the 2015 light display, held November 21
thru January 2, will be just shy of 300,000 visitors. The increasingly
popular holiday attraction, wrapsup after a family-friendly ringing in the
New Year celebration known as Happy Zoo Year.
